How AVirtual came to be

In 2015, our founder, Henry Walton, struggled to find time to run a business whilst juggling his growing family. After spending yet another Saturday working, he looked out of his home office window to see his 4-year-old son playing football by himself.

“That was my turning point. I realised something needed to change fast. I was burnt out at work, not focusing on what was important and not spending time with my family.” – Henry Walton, founder of AVirtual

He didn’t want a full-time employee and decided to advertise for a part-time remote assistant. Henry was blown away by the quality of the applicants, many having previously lived and worked in Ireland, now offering their services at much cheaper rates than anyone else in the Ireland market.

That was a lightbulb moment: when Henry realised that Cape Town is just one hour ahead of Ireland, has highly educated professionals, English as a first language, and cultural similarities to Ireland. It was the perfect place to offer high-quality virtual assistants to Ireland and Europe at affordable costs.

Since then, the AVirtual family has grown tremendously, helping hundreds of busy entrepreneurs lead more productive lives.
